The O'Daniel Honda story
O'Daniel Honda has been proudly serving the Omaha, Bellevue, Council Bluffs, Papillion and La Vista areas for more than four decades. Since opening our first store in 1958, the O'Daniel family has always focused on providing our customers a superior Honda experience with outstanding value.
It all started in Evansville, Indiana, when four brothers grew up in the car business, eventually becoming partners in a Desoto dealership.
One of the brothers, Bernard O'Daniel, originally purchased an Oldsmobile dealership on the corner of 24th Street and Harney in downtown Omaha, Nebraska. Wanting to move west, Bernard re-located the store "way out west". He purchased four acres on the corner of 78th and Dodge and began construction in 1968, making O'Daniel a landmark at that location for over 50 years.
In 1974, O'Daniel acquired Honda, and in 1984 built an exclusive Honda facility located on the south-east corner of 78th and Dodge. Upon his retirement, Bernard O'Daniel sold his business to his son Mike O'Daniel who operated the business until he sold the operation to his two sons Matt and Mike O'Daniel Jr.
Our Honda service and sales facility is still located at the intersection of 78th and Dodge in midtown Omaha. It has undergone many additions and renovations to ensure that we provide our customers with the superior Honda service they deserve.
Omaha has undergone plenty of changes since Bernard came to town in 1958 as well, but the O'Daniel family continues his legacy. We have been able to grow to become one of the Midwest's premier Honda dealerships by offering great deals while treating each customer like they were a guest in our home.
