Tires Alignment FAQ

Tires Alignment FAQ near Boys Town, NE

It’s easy to overlook regular maintenance for your vehicle, and that includes important work like tire alignments. But when you skip out on scheduled service, you’re mistreating your vehicle. If your ride isn’t quite as smooth as it used to be, or if your vehicle shudders when it shouldn’t, it’s likely time to bring your vehicle to the expert technicians at O'Daniel Honda.

Our technicians will use the latest technology that measures the angles of your wheels and tires for comparison against the ideal angle measurements recommended by the manufacturer. Next, our technicians use a real-time computer to readjust the wheels back to their proper positions.

There are three alignment types: standard, four-wheel, and thrust. A standard alignment (you may know it better as a front-end alignment) adjusts the front wheels only and will likely not recenter the steering wheel. A four-wheel alignment brings all four wheels of the vehicle back into place on vehicles with adjustable rear suspensions. A thrust alignment adjusts the front wheels with the thrust line (the average of the two rear wheels’ angles) and recenters the steering wheel.

You may notice your vehicle’s alignment needs work after hitting a pothole or curb, accidentally coming in contact with large road debris, or has been involved in a collision with an animal or another car. Additionally, if you notice uneven wear on your tires or that your steering wheel is off-center, an alignment is in order.

Even if you haven’t encountered any of these problems, you should still get an alignment done yearly.
