3 Ways to Enjoy Omaha on the Cheap

Omaha is a wonderful city filled with attractions for all ages. The best thing about the city is that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to enjoy it. Check out some ways to enjoy Omaha on the cheap.

  1. Late Nights at the Zoo

Members of the Omaha Zoo can experience everything the zoo has to offer after hours. This 21+ event is for adults only and includes cocktails, food from local food trucks, and a more intimate experience with the exhibits. Members will only pay $13 online and $18 at the door.

  1. The Joslyn Art Museum

Admission to the Joslyn Art Museum is completely free, and there is something for everyone. The exhibits feature art from ancient times all the way to the present. There are outdoor garden galleries, the Discovery Garden for the kids, and the Mind’s Eye Gallery with original art by children’s book illustrators. There’s a cafe and gift shop, and one Friday a month the museum stays open until 8 p.m.

  1. Get Out on the Lake

Omaha is home to five different lakes and two rivers, making it easy to get out on the water for boating and fishing. Levi Carter Park has water skiing, a marina, a picnic area, and fishing. You can also play sand volleyball and explore the paths. N.P. Dodge Memorial Park is another park that sits on a local lake. It also has water skiing, fishing, and a lagoon.
