Honda HR-V Specials in Omaha, NE

The Honda HR-V is the smallest and newest SUV in the Honda lineup, but it has already made a name for itself. The HR-V is designed to appeal to those who want a subcompact footprint for maneuverability and ease of parking without sacrificing interior space or versatility. This SUV also offers AWD for extra traction when you need it most.

The second-row Magic Seat splits 60/40 and can be adjusted in an incredible range of configurations. Fold one or both halves of the seatbacks down to extend the cargo area or fold the seat cushions up to fit tall objects that need to stand upright, like plants. When accessing the cargo area, you will appreciate the low lift-over height that means you don?t have to lift furniture as high. The cabin itself is thoughtful and filled with features, with intuitive touch-based climate control, a Display Audio screen, heated front seats, and a One-Touch Power Moonroof.

The Brief History of the HR-V

Honda created the HR-V to fill a gap in the lineup and answer customer demands. The HR-V is based on the same platform as the subcompact Fit hatchback. To give you a better idea of how the HR-V compares to the more familiar Honda SUVs, the subcompact HR-V sits nearly 10 inches shorter in terms of overall length than the current compact CR-V. That said, its wheelbase is only minimally shorter than the 1997 CR-V's, which was the first generation.

The name HR-V has one of two possible meanings: either Hi-rider Revolutionary Vehicle or Hip and smart Runabout Vehicle. Honda decided to introduce this vehicle to meet the growing demand for the visibility and cargo space of an SUV with the efficiency and maneuverability of small vehicles. Although the Honda HR-V didn?t arrive in the United States until the 2016 model year, it had already been around for years at that point, available in Japan. It debuted during the 1997 Tokyo Motor Show and began as a 1998 model year that was an exclusive to a particular dealership in Japan. After great success in Asia, Honda brought the HR-V to the U.S.

When creating the 2016 Honda HR-V, Honda designed an SUV that shows off styling reminiscent of a coupe in terms of sportiness. Designers included the Magic Seat that is found on other Honda models, including the Fit. The HR-V has always run on a 1.8-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine with 141 horsepower and offered the choice of front-wheel drive or Honda?s Real Time all-wheel drive. The 2016 Honda HR-V included many standard features, including Bluetooth, a rearview camera, and cruise control.
