As the weather starts to turn, it’s time to look inside for entertainment. The next time you need a fun activity on a cold day, check out these Omaha museums.
- Joslyn Art Museum
Do you enjoy exploring a variety of different types of art? Head for the Joslyn Art Museum on Dodge Street. The museum houses a variety of arts, such as eye-catching watercolor paintings. Explore art from around the world, as the collection features pieces from Europe, Asia, and Native American tribes. General admission is free; however, you may have to pay for some special exhibits.
- Omaha Children’s Museum
Get the kids out of the house and away from electronics on a cold day. Let imaginations run wild as the temperatures drop outside. Bring everyone to the Omaha Children’s Museum on South 20th Street. The museum is open seven days a week. Admission for members is free. Adults and kids are $13. Seniors are $12.
While they are at the museum, children can create a take-home project at the art smart center. Let them explore a variety of future careers in the “Fantastic Future Me” area. Tinkering around with toys and other objects in the tinker lab is a great way to work on fine motor skills. Zooland is the perfect place to run around and imagine themselves with a variety of animals. Don’t forget your camera to capture their squeals and excitement from the day.
Bring your friends and family with you as you enjoy these Omaha museums. Don’t forget your camera, but check with each location about their photography policy.
