3 Dog Parks that Your Pup Will Love in Omaha, NE

Taking your dog to the park is a great way to enjoy the outdoors while making sure your dog gets some exercise. Fortunately, there are plenty of dog parks in the Omaha area to choose from. Here are a few of our favorites.

Hanscom Dog Park

This park has both a small and large dog area, so it can accommodate your pet, no matter their size. The park is located on a hill, so you’re likely to enjoy a nice breeze as well as some shade from the several trees throughout the area. There’s also a zero-depth pool and playground for kids and some picnic tables where you can sit back and relax while your dog enjoys the park.

Chalco Hills Recreation Area

Chalco Hills Recreation Area is another great spot to take your dog. There’s a fenced dog area near the front entrance where you can let your pup run and play off-leash, or you can put the leash back on and take a stroll down a trail to soak in the beautiful scenery.

Walnut Creek Lake and Recreation Area

12 miles outside of Omaha, there’s a beautiful recreation area that your dog will definitely love. Let them play and swim along the shore while you relax nearby. The park is also fenced on three sides so that you can let your pet run off-leash. Anticipate that your dog will be wet at the end of your visit, so make sure to bring a towel.
