Not sure which crossover is best for you? Let’s look at the differences between two popular models; Honda’s mid-size CR-V and the compact HR-V.
Safety Features
Both the CR-V and the HR-V are fitted with front, side, and side curtain air bags. They also both have traction and stability control systems. Honda Sensing comes standard with the CR-V and the top trims of the HR-V. Honda Sensing is an intelligent set of safety and driver-assistive technologies.
Tech Features
The HR-V is not far behind the CR-V in technology. The CR-V has extra features, such as two USB ports in the back. The CR-V base model shares the 5-inch color LCD screen as the HR-V. A 7-inch system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto comes with the EX trim onward. It’s available as an upgrade on the HR-V.
Design Features
Both vehicles have Honda’s signature sporty aesthetics, with the CR-V looking a little more mature. The CR-V’s contemporary design provides plenty of space in the cabin for both passengers and goods. Its clean, minimalist design sports a redesigned bumper and L-shaped tail lamps. The HR-V, with its sharp headlights flanking a black insert and strip of chrome trim seems to stand straighter due to its smaller size.
Both vehicles are popular family crossovers. The HR-V now has many of the same safety features as the CR-V, so the gap between them has lessened. If you want more space, the CR-V will suit you. Otherwise, you can save by choosing the smaller HR-V without compromising much on tech and features.
