Omaha is often overlooked by tourists, but the city has plenty of attractions for the whole family. Here are three of the best.

  1. Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium

Featuring not only the world’s largest indoor desert, you can also experience the largest indoor rainforest in America at the Henry Doorly Zoo. With 160-acres of unique habitats, animals, and plants, a day isn’t long enough to see everything on offer. Tours of the zoo are available by a steam locomotive, tram or from above on the Skyfari.

  1. Bellevue Berry & Pumpkin Ranch

Visiting this working ranch is like stepping back in time. You can see the crops, livestock, and a variety of antique farming equipment. For the kids, there are play areas showing what life was like for children up to 100 years ago. Take a hayride through the 20-acres of woods and see tree houses and the recreated frontier town. Afterward, pick your own selection of whatever crops are in season.

  1. The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge

Take a walk over the Missouri River on the 3,000-foot long curving structure of the Bob Kerrey Bridge connecting Nebraska and Iowa. Get a picture at the point where you can be standing in two states at the same time. The bridge gives you an awesome view of the Omaha skyline and connects more than 150 miles of walking and biking trails.

These are just a few of the attractions that Omaha has to offer. If you explore, you will find many more.
