When the Honda CR-V made its debut in 1997, the crossover SUV became an immediate hit with drivers, thanks to its impressive capabilities and eye-catching style. To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Honda is giving the CR-V an exciting makeover for the 2022 model year. Here’s what we know about the 2022 CR-V

Sedan-Inspired Exterior

For the CR-V’s 2022 refresh, Honda designers are taking cues from the manufacturer’s sedan lineup, giving the SUV a grille and headlight treatment inspired by the Honda Accord. The 2022 CR-V’s hood will be longer than previous versions, and you can expect the rear overhang to extend farther. Instead of vertical rear lights, Honda is adding a horizontal light bar.

Innovative Interior

Inside the 2022 CR-V, you can expect to find a sleeker, more streamlined dashboard that gives the cabin a modern and minimalist appearance. The centerpiece is a larger touch-screen display, which you can use to make hands-free phone calls, access playlists, and get traffic updates. Because the exterior of the CR-V is getting an extension, you can also count on having more headroom, legroom, and cargo space with the 2022 lineup.

Hybrid Powertrain

Honda is in the process of transitioning all of its vehicles from gas-powered to hybrid-powered, and the CR-V is no exception. You can expect all 2022 CR-V models to come equipped with two electric motors and an engine that will serve as a generator for the CR-V’s battery. Honda plans to add an automatic gearbox for all-wheel-drive capability.

As you can see, there’s a lot to look forward to with the 2022 Honda CR-V. This SUV will soon be available to test drive, so stay tuned.
