The updated 2017 Honda Ridgeline doesn’t just raise the bar for Honda trucks – it raises the bar for all trucks. The newest iteration comes with some huge updates, including but not limited to increased towing capacity, new technology, and a new body style. Let’s take a look at 3 of the biggest shakeups the Ridgeline brings to the table.

New Tailgate Design

A tailgate’s a tailgate, right? You might think so, but the 2017 Honda Ridgeline isn’t any old tailgate. You can drop it down just like a traditional pick-up gate, or (and here’s where things get interesting) you can swing it open from the driver’s side just like a station wagon. Not only that but there’s an additional built in storage trunk built right into the bed that gives you even more storage space and versatility. That storage trunk has a built in lock, so you’ll have some extra peace of mind when leaving your tools or tailgating supplies in it.

Increased Storage Capacity

So, we’ve already talked about the secret storage trunk in the bed, but that’s not all the Ridgeline has to offer when it comes to storage. The inside of the cab is roomy and comfortable, and manages to pack in even more storage in the form of a flip-up rear seat that can hold a lot – up to and including a golf bag. The bed is 4 inches longer than on the 2016 model and is even wide enough that it can safely and comfortably hold a 4×8 sheet of wood flat in between the wheel wells.

Technology

If you’re in the market for a truck that has all the creature comforts and ease of driving you’d expect from a crossover, but need the storage capacity and towing ability of a truck – look no further than the 2017 Honda Ridgeline. Inside the cab you’ll find a built in 8-inch touchscreen display that can control the entertainment system, support for Apple Carplay and Android Auto, 3-zone climate control, and rear seating with a 60/40 split with a flat-load floor. Not only that, but the rearview camera is a step up from the previous model and even includes multi-angle views. The upper trim-levels even include blind-spot monitoring!

There are a lot of options when it comes to midsize trucks, but if you’re looking for one that doesn’t just measure up but raises the bar for years to come, look no further than the 2017 Honda Ridgeline. With its combination of technology, capability and comfort, the 2017 Honda Ridgeline is a truck of its own class.
